Gemma — Local AI Core
An everyday chat companion running on-device. Ramu can include phone status as context, and local chat can work offline once a compatible model is ready.

About Ramu
A little AI that knows its home.
Ramu is an AI companion for Android: talk through a local model, understand your device, and stay in control of your data and choices.
Built to make complex technology feel simple and close. If cloud services become an option, the choice to use them stays with you.
Touch to hear Bao say hello.
01 / Story
It began with a small question: could an AI model run directly on an Android phone? That experiment turned Gemma into a conversation partner that does not need to send every prompt to a server.
Then came another question. What if AI could also help explain a device’s battery, memory, connection, and usage habits in plain language?
That experiment grew into Ramu. Its foundation remains the same: start with what can run locally, respect privacy, and let people decide what they share.
02 / Journey
Three points that trace where Ramu began and where it may go next.
August 2025
This independent project began privately, developed locally.
October 2026
Ramu was introduced through its official website and GitHub, with a beta APK release.
What Comes Next
Exploring Claude-powered agentic capabilities for more complex workflows alongside local AI.

03 / Creator
Independent Developer & Creator of Ramu
Ramu is developed independently by Adi Febriana. His background in software development, infrastructure, and applied AI shapes the way it is built: experiment, measure, and improve what proves useful.
04 / Technology
Gemma already powers local chat. Claude remains a plan for work that needs more steps and information sources.
Current foundation

Still planned
An exploration for complex workflows: multi-step planning, tool calling, retrieval/RAG, a possible vector database, and external sources and services. Task execution would require user permission.
Claude is a technology plan for Ramu, not a beta feature or an official Anthropic partnership.
05 / What’s next
The vision is a personal assistant that helps finish work, not just answer questions. The steps are gradual, with local AI remaining the foundation.
In progress Planned / exploration
Refine the chat experience and verify model compatibility on more devices.
Develop retrieval so Ramu can use information chosen by the user as context.
Explore Claude as an agentic engine for multi-step planning and tool calling.
Test tools and external services, with user consent before tasks run.
Evaluate an optional premium agentic service while keeping the local AI foundation.
